Menopause and Perimenopause Support in Middletown, Delaware
Hot flashes, poor sleep, mood changes, low energy, and digestion that suddenly feels different can make perimenopause and menopause feel like a lot to manage. These changes are a normal part of life, but that doesn't mean you have to just push through them on your own.
We'll call you within 1 business day. Requests welcome evenings and weekends.
At Functional Medicine of Delaware, we take time to understand the whole picture. Hormones don't work alone. Digestion, stress, sleep, blood sugar, and the nervous system all play a part in how you feel during this transition, so we look at each of them.

Our approach, starting with the gut
We start with the gut because it helps the body process nutrients and clear hormones it no longer needs. When digestion isn't working well, other symptoms can feel harder to manage. From there, we look at stress and cortisol patterns, sleep, nutrition, and daily habits.
Your first visits include a detailed history and, when it makes sense, lab testing. Your provider then works with you on a personal plan. That plan may include nutrition changes, lifestyle steps, supplements, and other treatment options you and your provider decide on together. We talk through every option openly so you can choose what fits you.
Who we help
We work with women in perimenopause, menopause, and the years after who want a provider to listen, explain their results clearly, and build a plan with them rather than for them.

Common questions
What does functional medicine do for menopause?
We look for the reasons behind your symptoms by reviewing your history, digestion, stress, sleep, nutrition, and labs when appropriate. Then your provider builds a personal plan with you.
Why do you start with the gut for menopause symptoms?
The gut helps the body absorb nutrients and clear hormones it no longer needs. Supporting digestion is often a helpful first step alongside other parts of your plan.
Do you help with perimenopause too?
Yes. Many women notice changes in sleep, mood, cycles, and energy years before menopause, and we're glad to see you at any stage.
Can I have a virtual menopause visit?
Virtual visits are available for Delaware and Maryland residents. Patients from New Jersey and Pennsylvania are welcome at our Middletown office in person.
What insurance do you take?
In-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Tricare, Cigna, and Delaware Medicaid. We can bill out of network to all other plans except Medicare.
